Germany is confronting a growing wave of hybrid warfare threats, highlighted by a recent incident involving an explosive-laden drone at Leipzig/Halle Airport. Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt has sounded the alarm over a surge in foreign-origin hybrid attacks aimed at destabilizing the country's political and social fabric.

In an interview with Bild am Sonntag, Minister Dobrindt emphasized that while Germany is not officially at war, it faces daily hybrid warfare attacks designed to undermine its sovereignty. "The clear strategic objective of foreign powers is to exert political and societal control over us," he stated, pointing to espionage, sabotage, cyberattacks, and covert operations as key instruments of this campaign. Though he refrained from naming specific countries, the implication aligns with growing Western concerns over malign activities by state actors.

"We are not in a state of war, but we are daily targets of hybrid warfare," said Minister Dobrindt.
